Reorganisation at the CHE. Christian Berthold and Yorck Hener together take the helm at CHE Consult
From 1 August, Yorck Hener will join the management of CHE Consult, taking the helm alongside Christian Berthold. After Detlef Müller-Böling has left the CHE Centre for Higher Education Development at the end of July and Frank Ziegele, previous CEO of CHE Consult, takes over leadership of the non-profit making CHE with Jörg Drager, CHE Consult will also witness a change in management.
Yorck Hener has gained a great deal of experience working in higher education institutions over the past decades, including as planning assistant and head of the planning department at the Universität Oldenburg. He has been project manager with the non-profit making CHE for five years, where he is also entrusted with managerial tasks. The focus of his activity is advising higher education institutions on designing university-related steering instruments, improving organisation and processes at higher education institutions and comparing performances through benchmarking. Most recently, he has taken overall responsibility for the concept of Teaching Points as an innovative planning model for teaching and for diverse projects for the cooperation of higher education institutions and the Benchmarking Club of the technical universities.
Christian Berthold has been CEO of CHE Consult since its foundation in 2001. “CHE will strengthen its coaching activities in the future,” said Christian Berthold and Yorck Hener. Beside its core focus of demographic change and higher education systems, CHE Consult is also active in administering diverse projects related to the foundation of higher education institutions. CHE Consult’s field of activity ranges from the development of management and steering models, mediation in change processes and project management to evaluations and expert reports.
